The family of possibilities expands, thanks to the arrival of the Association Yoruba.

The YCA, Yoruba Cultural Association, is a non-profit organization founded in Rome in spring 1998, with the aim of promoting and enhancing the culture of Yoruba, conducting studies, research, debates and initiatives publishing and training for the Yoruba culture. The Association was founded to promote the knowledge of the Yoruba in Italy, which is a major factor in the cultural life of West Africa and African Americans in the syncretic process.
The Yoruba and the Italians that gave birth to YCA come from a long experience of initiatives (conferences, debates, lectures, video screenings, music events - dances, parties, etc..)

The YC A is committed, together with other individuals, associations and institutions, against stereotypes, and the understatements Eurocentric biases that affect how the Yoruba culture of Africa and other realities that mark with their deleterious effects not only the consciousness of Italians and Europeans but even many Yoruba and African in general. In this sense, the cultural activities of the Association is part of the efforts that different people are making to encourage the construction in Italy of a company actually intercultural , in every way to beat racism and Eurocentrism and to facilitate full awareness on the part of the African peoples of their cultures, not in crystallized form, and trivialized museificate but dynamic, alive, active and able to give great contribution to society and future generations.
