A women's movement was born spontaneously in the wake of guerrilla warfare: the women understood that their participation was also used to make the collapse of the regime.

Women who have fought have been many. They have lost their lives, have been disabled, others were decorated. The role of women in the Resistance was also crucial in order to assert rights that they deserve. Today it seems that those wives, mothers, lovers, sisters, friends do not have occurred. Resistance is exclusively linked to the deeds of men, certainly important, but only men. That's not how things are. There were women with enormous courage, women like Iris Versari. Iris committed suicide in 1944 to save his fellow partisans, he was only 22 years. In 1976 a decree of the President Giovanni Leone was decorated with the Gold Medal for Military Valor memory with this reasoning.

Immolava così la sua giovane vita a quegli ideali che aveva nutrito nella sua breve ma gloriosa esistenza"
